Our second summer edition of POOLcast season 8 is another recording by J-M-S, who have teamed up again this spring with a wide variety of instruments of electronic and acoustic facon. The result is a kind of audible silent movie.

This may sound paradoxical, but let's imagine the following thought experiment. We use a camera to record the image and sound of a natural scenario. We see and hear the wind blowing through the leaves of trees, birds gliding through the air while their calls are echoing from the mountains. Insects buzz and chirp in the undergrowth. In the distance we see and hear the babbling of a creek. If we now decouple images and sound in this imaginary recording, we create a kind of cinematic still life and an acoustic recording of nature, called field recording. If we now combine these isolated media with new complementary media, i.e. image with new sound and sound with new image, this thought experiment results in a music video, one could say trivially.
